Another one bites the dust!

Sorry it has been a long time since I have been in touch with everyone. Last cruise was a rough one, to say the least. I was in a poopy kind of mood to begin with, and I only got off the ship once the entire time. The rest of the time I stayed in my room and moped. Don't know why, just needed a week or two to mope.

So, during that week of personal reflection and general unhappiness for some unknown reason, one of our dancers managed to get herself fired. Jessica. I don't know the entire story, but it has lots of holes in it.

To start with, her boyfriend on board got fired about a month before she did. On Island Night, there was a huge party on deck. There was also a Mojito party in the dressing room for those of us who choose to imbibe. I was not one of them. Something in my gut told me to stay away. There was also a "punk rock" party in the crew bar, and the thought of violent music mixed with alcohol made me shiver with horror. I walked into the bar for about five seconds, decided that the thoughts I had about killing and eating my dog that I don't even have was somehow a subliminal message from the awful music, so I left.

Well, Jessica went to the Mojito party, and then to Island Night on deck. It was a little bit rainy, and overwhelmingly crowded with the most amazingly intoxicated group of youths I have EVER seen. Makes Wakefield look like everyone drinks lemonade and sips iced tea... okay, anyhow.

Jessica was "talking" to a passenger, and apparently, according to the reports out there, it looked as though they were making out, because of the positioning of their heads in order to talk to each other. Now, given the fact that Jess was majorly intoxicated, it could honestly have been either. I like to think she was just trying to talk to the guy, as it was kinda loud out there. She was asked by security to stay away from the guy, and she didn't.

She was then caught on camera going through passenger areas to see this guy again, and was caught sitting between his legs on one of the outer decks.

She was breathalyzed and was three times over the limit. She met with the captain, and was fired. She got off this past Sydney.

So here's what pisses me off. First of all, we go back into reblock rehearsals and then when the new girl arrives, we are back into rehearsals yet again. I am tired of rehearsing. Secondly, the same night, mind you, the future cruises representative (male) was also intoxicated, had a passenger IN HIS OFFICE, showed up very disheveled, told a passenger who was looking at a brochure to "Forget it, you'll never be able to afford that cruise!" and he DID NOT get fired. What's up with that? Gotta love Princess Cruises, setting the double standard for passenger relations.

Oy. Glad to get that off my chest.

So, today I am in Port Chalmers, New Zealand. Took the bus into Dunedin, which is a pretty cool little town. I am at an internet cafe, debating how to spend the rest of my day. I don't want to spend a lot of money, so I am thinking of going to a movie with Brittany. What to see? I have no idea. I have seen Avatar, which was amazing, Holmes, which was also good. I want to see Lovely Bones, but I really have no idea what it is about. Also am really anxious to see Nine, which doesn't open here for another couple weeks.

Mom and Dad are coming on a cruise, I hope. We are making plans for the entire Asia cruise, which is 42 days long, out of Sydney up to Hong Kong-ish and back. That's a long time. I hope we don't kill each other. I am looking forward to it, though, as I really miss them.

I will repost with some new pictures, and I hope you like them! Enjoy!
