The Invasion has started!

And the audiences are RAVING! The show went very very well, considering we were all exhausted and excited and nervous as all hell. I do have pictures, but they are in the process of being transferred to my laptop, so I don't have them at the moment. Be patient! There are some eye-opening ones of a me you have never seen before and probably never will again!

In the meantime, I have had some requests for pictures of flowers (Peggy) and doors (Mom). So here they are for your enjoyment. They are from all over Australia, and probably some from New Zealand and other South Pacific Islands as well.

Hard to believe I only have two more cruises left! It seems like the ten months have crawled by, but now they are on a collision course with reality. I'll be home soon! Next cruise we go to Hawaii and back, and then for the last one, we are up to Vanuatu and then homeward bound. I am getting excited. Looking forward to some Mellow Mushroom! Who's up for going when I get back?

At the moment, I am sitting in the Brisbane Library. Finally found a free public wifi that is fast and up and running! I thought there would be more signs of the destruction of the flooding that had crippled Queensland this past year, but it is amazing how resilient and pro-whatever these folks are! You would never know there was such devastation. They did a great job of cleaning up, that there is hardly any sign of water levels anywhere except at water level.

The British Are Coming!

Opening night is tomorrow! When did that happen? It seems like we just started rehearsals, but I guess it has been a month already. British Invasion has been a lot of fun to do, but tough on the vocal chords and the body. It's a rough show. Every bit of free time I have is either spent changing clothes, or crossing from one side of the stage to the other. I hardly even get a chance to take a drink of water, which is hell.

I will let you all know how the show goes, and i will try to post some photos of the costumes and stuff so that it makes more sense when you listen to me complain about wearing the six inch heels... visuals are going to be a good way to show just what the heck I have been doing for the past month.

I miss you all. Am DYING for some chick-fil-a and to get some good chicken wings... not to mention just some good Hershey's chocolate. Would LOVE some Hershey's eggs for Easter, but they don't have those here. Only Cadbury at 8 bucks a bag. Yowza.

Talk to you again soon. Please say a prayer for me tomorrow when we open. We are doing a preview for the cast at 12:30 and then the main show is tomorrow night at 7:45 and 9:45 I think. Maybe 8 and 10. I have no idea. i just show up and sing my little heart out.

The Ship series...

more from Freo...

The pics...

Slow
connection here at Little Creatures... thank goodness the pizza is good!

Been a while!

And now I am in Fremantle, or Freo as the locals call it. Had an amazing day today. Spent the morning with the amazing Jemma Newman, and we walked around to do pretty much nothing. It was nice to get off the ship, as it has been a while. British Invasion rehearsals are taking most of our time, and we are still doing shows as well. My track in BI is fun, but lots of tough music. Who knew Freddy Mercury was such an amazing songwriter! It is a trip to wear six inch heels and sing "Wild Thing". Unfortunately, there will probably not be any pics of that mess on line. Heehehe... we shall see.

Anyhow, I spent the rest of the day today wandering around Fremantle instead of going into Perth as was my original plan. I am now sitting in Little Creatures, having dinner with Jemma. I felt like I could splurge on a nice meal out since it will be the last for a while. We head to Bali next, and there is a bunch of sea days before then, and we probably won't be able to get off the ship in Bali.

So, I had an amazing day. Went to a bunch of churches, found a theatre that was having auditions for a play, watched a flock of wild parrots playing in the trees, and took tons of photos of doors for my momma! Here are some of the better pics of the day. It was one of those days where the light was just perfect, you know? It was time for a good day. Enjoy the pics. I am uploading them whilst I wait for a margherita pizza with prawns and some frites. how does that sound? Pretty damned good to me!

Just a little note to Gaby... I miss you and love you and I am thinking about you a LOT!
