How in the world did I end up in Brunei? What can i say except that it is amazingly beautiful as far as architecture is concerned... but man, is it HOT! We are actually docked in Muara, and there was a shuttle for crew members into the Brunei city formal. The mosques and other buildings are really something to behold. Interesting that on one side of the street is an absolutely ornate and gilded building, and on the other is a slum, for lack of a better word.
Did some shopping, ate lunch at a local food court... had some dim sum with prawns and chicken. Pretty good. Will try and post again tomorrow, with today's pictures. In the meantime, here are some pics from the past few weeks around Airlie beach and darwin, since I have not been posting until now. Enjoy!
Mom and Dad and I have not killed each other yet, though we are still confused about where to meet sometimes... Deck 14 is a big place. Especially when it is crowded. Shows are going well. The big guy Peter Grey Terhune himself is sailing with us. He got to see Piano Man for the crew and Shimmy last night. They went well, thank goodness. More later!!!
Okay, well, the connection yet again does not seem to want to let me upload any photos... I'll try again tomorrow.
